Dr. Demetre Chuck
Lead Dentist
Bio:
As a young child attending St. Peter and Paul Preparatory School and growing up in a large Chinese Jamaican family, three things rapidly developed in Dr. Demetre Chuck’s life; love for his family and friends, fondness for delicious food and a tenacious desire for helping others. While on a day to day basis he was able to display his affections for his family, friends and delicious food, his desire for helping others lingered, trying to blossom at every turn.
He and his family would feed the homeless during the Christmas season as well as assist at his grandfather’s, (Dr. Hugh March) Dental Practice in Kingston, Jamaica; It was there that his love for dentistry was cemented, never to be lifted.
Dr. Chuck continued along his live journey, graduating from Ardenne High, attaining a first degree in Biology at Florida International University, achieving three years work experience in Florida, USA to then return to Jamaica, the land he loved to follow the passion that had been brewing from his inception; dentistry.
Dr. Chuck entered the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in 2013. His desire for helping others again recognized as he was awarded a distinction in Oral Surgery and received the Deans award for Social Responsibility for immense enthusiasm and outstanding work at outreach programs across the island.
Today Dr. Demetre Chuck stands honoured as a member of the Jamaica Dental Association, humbled to be continuing the development of a 50 year old practice started by the remarkable Dr. O.C. Hutchinson, willing to carry out his family’s dental legacy and blessed to be given the opportunity to not only treat patients but to care for people on a daily basis. Welcome to the DRDC family
